Why Finding the Right Rental is So Hard

For Phoenix families who are living in a house that’s worth less than what is owed on the mortgage, or a home that’s facing foreclosure, the prospect of renting a home instead of owning is pretty appealing. And given the dismal condition of the housing market in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area, it’s hardly surprising to find out that there are far fewer houses for rent in Phoenix than there are people looking for them.

Despite the fierce competition for the limited inventory of available rental units, there are a few steps that prospective tenants can take to increase their chances of landing a great house of apartment. Of course families with good credit ratings are by far the best prepared rise above the mass of other renters. That’s because these days, most landlords run a credit check on tenants before every letting them spend a single night in their property.

Finding good houses for rent in Phoenix AZ is just not easy, even though there are thousands of vacant properties that are deep in the foreclosure process. But since those houses can’t be rented until they’re no longer owned by the bank. So it looks like it may be a few more years before the rental market finally loosens up.
